The study identified 43 websites based in 14 European countries, as netreach initiatives that include drug users in their target groups. The majority are administered by harm reduction teams working in nightlife and recreational settings. There are three categories:
- One-dimensional websites provide information only, about drugs, prevention, harm reduction, and/or health promotion
- Two-dimensional websites are more complex and dynamic. In addition to information, they tend to be interaction spaces for the exchange of information between the website promoter and the visitors, offering services such as e-conselling (through e-mail), preventive games and apps, and e-training.
- On three-dimensional websites, the viewer is engaged not only as an information receiver but also as an important source of knowledge for others online.
